Directions and locations
Most participants of the workshop will live in SK Royal hotel, please mind its location: maps.yandex.ru.
The workshop will be held at the MIPT campus. It starts at the Main building, in the concert hall near the entrance: maps.yandex.ru. From Monday 14:00 the workshop continues in Laboratory building, in the lecture hall on the first floor (counted from zero): maps.yandex.ru.
Breakfasts and dinners will mostly be in the hotel, unless there is an official dinner elsewhere. The lunch on Monday is supposed to be in the Laboratory building (maps.yandex.ru), opposite to the Imaginary exhibition. On the other days the lunch is supposed to be in the MIPT canteen (maps.yandex.ru), to the left after entrance, first floor (counting from zero).
We plan to collect arriving participants on 5 and 6 of September in the Sheremetyevo airport, terminals D, E, F. I will send you a message with the details of this later. In case there is some trouble with it, or in case you want to move around later, I recommend to use Yandex Taxi (taxi.yandex.ru) and their smartphone apps, because usually taxi dispatchers and drivers in Moscow do not speak other languages than Russian.
In order to use taxi you may need to know the official addresses. Hotel: Moscow, Dmitrovskoye shosse 163 A korpus 2 (Дмитровское шоссе 163 А корпус 2). Campus: Dolgoprudny, Institutskiy pereulok 5 (Долгопрудный, Институтский переулок 5).
We will organize the transfer of the participants between the hotel and the MIPT campus according to the program. When you get familiar with the surroundings, you may use some public transport nearby. In order to move between the hotel and the campus you may use 545 minibus, according to the map: maps.yandex.ru. You have to pay directly to the driver in this minibus and other minibuses in the area. The visibility for the passengers of the minibus is very poor, so you must first clearly understand the location and ask the driver to stop where you need to get off.
In order to get to Moscow by public transport, you may use the minibus from the RIO shopping center (next to the hotel) to Altufievo metro station (maps.yandex.ru). This minibus has no number, but is labeled by the name of the shopping center: RIO (РИО in Russian).
In order to get to Moscow from the place of the workshop at the campus, you need to go to Novodachnaya suburban train station (maps.yandex.ru) and go to Savelovskaya station (maps.yandex.ru) to change to metro. The tickets are sold at Novodachnaya station in the box-office; you need to say the word Moskva (Москва) in order to get the right ticket for 57 rubles. The tickets back can be bought at Savelovskaya railroad station at box-offices or ticket machines.
The Fifth German-Russian Week of the Young Researcher on Discrete Geometry
Dates: 6-11 September 2015
We (together with Imre Bárány, Günter Ziegler, and Andrei Raigorodskii) organize a workshop at Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT).
The accomodation of the participants will be in SK Royal hotel not far from the Sheremetyevo airport (SVO). The conrefence will be held at the MIPT campus.
The workshop is intended to bring together some recognized experts in the field and many young and promising mathematicians. We also expect a large number of undergraduate and graduate students from Moscow attending this workshop and learning recent advances in the field from the leading experts.
Here is the incomplete list of participants:
The subject area of the workshop includes:
Conjectures in combinatorial and convex geometry
This note collects several conjectures, formulated in my papers.
